Mavi Cocuklar means "the Blue Kids" or "the Blue Boys".
They were know under this name too :
" Let me explain you something or additional about Blue Boys/Istanbul. I had heard about them in 1965 or even earlier. As the pianoplayer GARBO was a school friend of mine and was leaving in my neighbourhood. Later the years I had the chance to meet all of them personally. Whıle they were playing at the roof restaurant of Hılton /Istanbul. Dincer was one of their singers. Marthen Yorgantz (now well known in Paris) was another one. I even made some photos of Marthen for his record cover. Their drumplayers knick name was TIRTIL (means new born butterfly). In 1967 after their award at the Altın mıkorofn song contest (golden microphone). I can remember as it was like today.
We all went to a suburb of Istanbul called Bakırkoy and their were supposed to promote thier winning song ''cek deveci develeri'' which translatıon means = cameldriver get the camels out of here =...So we had to find a solution hw to get this camel made out of wood to bakırkoy.We got an old taxi .. a taxi of 1940 a cadillac .where 8 people could sit. The camel got at the top of the roof. Feet up and we were driving to Bakırkoy to an open air cinema. Those were the days." vahram
