"Alpay is a powerful singer who performed since 1960. The early years, (1960-65) he did some nice psych-prog songs in Anatolian style with his band: ALPAY & HIS FRIENDS. (Sanar Yurdatapan - Bass / Murat Sungar-Piano / Robert Anglin-Guitar / Durul Gence-Drums)
Especially "Kara Tren" , "Gelin Ayse" and "Efem" are really successful early samples of Turkish psych-prog. Then, "Yekte" is a masterpiece of Alpay, in Anatolian rock style.
Late 1960's Alpay begins to solo works, some covers of Italian, French composes,
then a new Alpay sound, romantic songs with folkloric rhytms by big orchestra and vocals. (Collectors must be careful, most of the songs of Alpay are NOT in rock - psych - or progressive sound)"

Be aware ! Most of the covers of singles listed here, except the first ones on the top of this page, all other singles are mostly in that awfull mellow style.
About first single on this page :
""Yekte" is known as a masterpiece of Alpay in Anatolian rock style, some foreign collectors asked me for that one. It is a well known Turkish music, wonderful Anatolian rhytms in rock style!
But I especially recommend to listen the Face B:
"Seni Dileniyorum" With an incredible rhythm and style, unusual guitar sound and psych percussion effects." Guner
About single with Üç Hürel : "Alpay sings and Us Hurel plays cool rhythmic fuzzed up anadolu rock. Very danceable too and personal fave. 'Gonullerde bahar' has fuzz. 'Ask boyledir' has great saz, fuzz solo and also fantastic rhythm." Huiboki
